Overdrive, Distortion, Metal
Most existing distortion effects on the market use an operational amplifier for boosting the input signal into a number of diodes that clip and create the distortion effect. In PedalPro, we do it differently. The Pedalpro distortion is implemented using the saturation of low-noise J-FETs. This results in a smoother, tube-like second-harmonic distortion that is rich and full of punch.
Frequency shaping to obain different distortions
By cascading filters F1 and F2 with the distortion and adjusting their frequency and resonace you can produce a wide variety of distortion sounds.
PedalPro allows you to activate and bypass the boost and drive the distortion using only the guitar signal, which is pumped directly into the heart of the distortion circuit. By avoiding unnecessary electronics, you get a very dynamic overdrive that sounds like vintage tube amplifiers. PedalPro also allows you to drive the distortion directly with the compressor and bypass the boost to avoid one extra amplification stage.
